Its been awhile since we started the server rebuild, approaching month 8 now. So I figured now is a good time to start a questionnare for the staff so that we can answer some questions.

Go ahead and comment your questions, and I will edit the post beneath this one to answer them. Questions will be answered by staff as a whole, and it also lets you guys get a feel for the features we have planned while giving us some feedback about what you think of it.

From Imhereagain. "What exactly are the criteria that need to be met before the server is opened to the public?"

This is a three part answer. First, once dungeons are completed we will open briefly for a test release, this will be to tune classes and dungeons to get your guys' approval and make sure they arent terrible!
Second, we will close again to get Towny and Cities prepared with NPCs and traders, as well as getting the various purchasable city plots in order. After that we will open for public release without wide range advertisements.
While you play during that period, we will work on conquest, go through its livetest, then we will be good to go.

From WoodRom "Will there be ranks like the old server?"

We haven't decided if there will or will not be ranks yet, as all benefits gained from a rank would have to be cosmetic. In that case, we have leaned towards simply offering those cosmetic benefits directly through a payment option and that way you can just pay for what you want instead of having to buy a whole set of things at a higher price. Additionally, we don't want to lock these things to just paying players, so we will look into offering those same cosmetic options through randomized loot and quest lines in-game.

From ShAd0w "What do you mean when you say towns can be raided and destroyed but restored later?"

We haven't full rediscussed this as staff yet, because a lot of ideas have changed as we've continued building. If we go this route you can basically break a block in a town as a non-member and the block will vanish for x seconds before reappearing. Blocks will not drop for non-town members, so there is no risk of duplication. However in light of how we are planning the new conquest features to work, it may just be better for us to encourage PvP through conquest rewards rather than force it on everyone.

From i0N "Will there be classes and a level up system?"

We will feature Heroes classes, at the current moment we have seven planned; Aegis, Sharpshooter, Juggernaut, Mender, Duskblade, Spellslinger, and Minstrel. They each feature their own playstyle and will hopefully cover what everyone wants to be. Level cap will finish at Level 35 currently.
